Melvin J. Hansen
Wilson- Melvin Judkins Hansen, 59, of 2865 S 2800 W., was dean on arrival at St. Benedict's Hospital following a traffic accident Nov 3 on I 15. He was born July 29, 1918 in Warren a son of Louis Alma and Sarah Eveline Judkins Hansen.
He was a journeyman-meter man for Utah Power and Light Co., where he had worked the past 30 years. He married Theda M. Williams July 31, 1940, in the Logan, LDS Temple. He was educated in Weber County schools and graduated from Weber High. he was a member of the Wilson 1st Ward where he served as secretary to the high priests quorum. He served as a counselor in the elders quorum presidency and high priests group of the Wilson Ward. He had been active in the Boy Scouts program and church softball. He had served a mission in the North Weber Stake.
Surviving are his widow of Wilson, three sons and two daughters, Melvin "Dick" Hansen of Puyallup, Wash., Lyle Grant Hansen of Roy, Ross W. Hansen of Clinton, Mrs. John (Phyllis_ Conti of Ogden, Gwen Hansen of Wilson, 18 grandchildren and five brothers and one sister, Walter W. Hansen, Orval J. Hansen, both of Warren; Levi J. Hansen of Taylor, Alma W. Hansen and Edward J. Hansen, both of Ogden, Mrs. E. Lewis (Ida) Johnson of Garland.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, Ogden, with Bishop Grant Holmes of the Wilson 1st Ward officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday prior to the services. Interment will be in Ogden City Cemetery.
