Val Pfannenstiel was born March 19, 1908, in Munjor. He was a retired maintenance engineer for the Salina Board of Trade and had been a Salina resident since 1946. He died at his home in Salina.

Mr. Pfannenstiel was a member of St Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and a member of the Salina Eagles Lodge.

Survivors included his wife, Pauline; four sons, Donald, Robert, Herbert and Leonard; four daughters, Rose Ann Thatcher, Mary Ellen Hanson, Judy Cooper and Barbara Walker; three brothers, F.A., C.A. and Connie; two sisters, Clara Meier and Rosie Gross; 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
