After 1903 she and her maiden sisters lived together at Smyrna. Mary spent her last weeks in the Swan Hospital at Cambridge where she died - of pneumonia and psychosis, the last of the sisters. She died intestate and after her death the little house at Smyrna and all her belongings were sold to pay her bills. A cousin, Christy Stevens, bought her tiny house and its contents for a mere $800.
