Doyle Sexton, 64,
of Huntsville, passed away suddenly Thursday, December 28, 1989, at the Scott County Hospital. He was born in Scott County, Tennessee on June 29, 1925, and was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Mae Byrge Sexton; and his first wife, [?] lene Joyce Sexton. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the First Baptist Church in Huntsville. Mr. Sexton is survived by his father, Burchfield Sexton of Huntsville; his wife, Judy Ellen Sexton of Huntsville; one daughter, Deborah Tompkins and husband, Greg of Jasper; one son, Greg of Huntsville; three grandchildren: Brian Sexton of Huntsville, and Amanda and Miranda Tompkins of Jasper; two sisters: Mrs. Norman (Pauline) Acres of Helenwood, and Betty Jane Levine of Steinhatcher, Fla.; three brothers: Neil, Bennie, and Clendon Sexton, all of Huntsville; two step-daughters: Keniska Bowling of Powder Springs, Ga., and Stacy Bowling of Chatsworth, Ga.; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. Levi Smith of Oneida; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 30, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Rev. James Laxton and Rev. David Acres officiating. Special music was provided by the Goad Family. Entombment was in the Carson Memorial Mausoleum with full military honors by American Legion Post #136. Serving as pallbearers were: James Roy Sexton, Tommy Thompson, Jerry Willard Thompson, Arnold West, Lonnie Ellis, and Alvin Krahn. Jones and Son Funeral Home of Oneida was in charge of the arrangements.
