Luther Curtis, 80, Succumbs Today
Luther Curtis, 80, of near Mabscott, died at his home at 4:45 a.m. today after an extended illness.
He was a retired carpenter and school teacher and a life-long resident of Raleigh County. He was a member of the Beckley Church of Christ and the Odd Fellows Lodge No. 311 of Whitestick.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Beckley Church of Christ with the Rev. S. W. Larkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Etha Davis Curtis; two daughters, Mrs. Opal Farley, of Mabscott and Mrs. Henry C. Smith of Glenwood; three sons, J. Ross, Ewell, and Rheo, all of Mabscott; one sister, Mrs. Laura Snuffer, of Eccles, and one brother, J. C. Curtis of Beckley.
The body will remain at the Calfee Funeral Home until 2 p.m. Friday.
