Bertie Bragg Meadows
BRAGG — Bertie L. Bragg Meadows, 99, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at Raleigh Center, Daniels, following a long illness.
Born Jan. 4, 1902, at Pear, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Emma Bragg Goodson.
Mrs. Meadows was a homemaker and a member of Abraham Freewill Baptist Church at Bragg and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel A. Bragg; her second husband, James A. Meadows; a daughter, Marie Arthur; two sons, Leonard Bragg and Paul Bragg; and an adopted son, Willard Meadows.
Survivors include four sons, Edward Bragg and wife, Lona, of Bragg, Beecher Bragg and wife. Nina, of MacArthur, Charles Bragg and wife, Helen, of Leivasy and James Bragg and wife, Anna, of Cleveland, Ohio; 35 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and 34 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with the Rev. Harold Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Goodson Cemetery at Bragg.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dale Arthur, Michael Arthur, Stephen Bragg, Jeff Gould, David Bragg and Robert Meadows.
