Kiel—Mrs. Erna Rautmann, 54, resident of the town of Herman, passed away at St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan Wednesday after a lingering illness. The daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Bethke) Horneck, she was born in the town of Rhine on March 9, 1888, and her marriage to Louis Rautmann took place Jan. 22, 1911. The couple then resided at their present farm home one mile east of Ada. Her husband preceded her in death in 1928.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George Lutze of the town of Centerville, and Mrs. Alfred Fessler of School Hill; three sons, Oliver, Elroy and Allan at home; two brothers, Phillip and Gordon Horneck of the town of Herman; and three sisters, Mrs. Ella Lindow and Mrs. Clarence Stange, and Mrs. Richard Sixel of Moselie. There are four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the family residence and at St. John's Evangelical Reformed church at Schwartzwald with the Rev. William Schulz officiating.
