"Ralph W. French, 89, of rural Selah, died December 29, 2004 Yakima Regional in Yakima.

Ralph was born December 21, 1915 in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada to Edward Nelson and Tillisty Meredith (Kirk) French. The family lived in Canada until moving to Cedar Valley for a short time. The family then moved to Moxee where Ralph was raised and educated. He then moved to Selah where he married Arlene Rudeen on Nov. 25, 1937. Ralph then attended and graduated from Northwest Bible College in Kirkland, WA. He dedicated himself to the different churches in the area. He was a long time faithful member of the Stone Church. He was an orchardist in the Selah area and also a foreman at Norberg Warehouse and other warehouses in the area.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 67 years, Arlene French of Selah, WA,; sons Duane and wife Elaine French of Kent, WA: Melvin French of Selah, WA; Rodney and wife Kathy French of Selah WA; Bruce and his wife Mary French of Bothell, WA; daughter Lorraine and husband Albert Batterson of Puyallup, WA, 6 grandchildren and 9 nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2005 in Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors. Concluding services and burial will be in West Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Shaw and Sons on Monday Jan. 3rd from 1-5 and Tuesday Jan. 4th from 1-6 and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service." --Yakima Herald Republic 5 January 2005
