Molly Ethridge Port, 84, of Pawleys Island, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Screven Baptist Church in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. R. Wayne Ellis. Burial, directed by the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home, will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Sign a guest book at www.mayer funeralhome.com.

Mrs. Port was born Nov. 15, 1920, in Andrews, a daughter of the late Sim and Ellen Ethridge. She grew up in Andrews and was a graduate of Andrews High School. Mrs. Port was a retired employee of Georgetown Memorial Hospital and was a member of Screven Baptist Church and the Deborah Sunday School Class.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joe Port Sr.; a son, Joe Port Jr.; a grandchild, Kimberly Ellen Young; and two great-grandchildren, Bradley and Joseph.

Surviving are four daughters, Joanne Young and Sandra Strickland, both of Pawleys Island, Janie Hobgood of Charleston and Charmaine Mattox of St. Simons Island, Ga.; four sons, Frank Port of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Mike Port of Buffalo, Texas, David Port of Port Arthur, Texas, and Donnie Port of Riesel, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren
