Louis Edward Ethridge, 55, a retired International Paper Co. employee, died Wednesday, March 5, 1980, in a Georgetown Hospital.

Mr. Ethridge was born February 15, 1924, in Georgetown County, a son of the late Sim Ethridge and Mrs. Minnie Ellen Ethridge Ethridge.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was survived by his widow, Mrs. Helen Geneva Capps Ethridge of Georgetown; two sons, Phillip Ethridge of Atlanta, GA., and Robert Ethridge of Miami, FL; three daughters, Mrs. Deborah Howard of Andrews, Mrs. Theresa Rheuark of Myrtle Beach, and Miss Helen Louise Ethridge of Georgetown; a brother, Creel Ethridge of Georgetown; three sisters, Mrs. Cindy Britt of Georgetown, Mrs. Molly Port of Buffalo, TX, and Mrs. Dorothy Powell of Orlando, FL.; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral was Thursday, March 6, 1980, at First Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Mayer Funeral Home, followed in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
