CORUM - At the home of his son, R.E. Corum, near Springfield, August 15, 1923, J.W. Corum, at the age of 84 years. He leaves his wife, one son and five daughters, R.E. Corum, Springfield; Mrs. Lulu Hubbell, Stroud, Oklahoma; Mrs. Bertha Burrell (sh/be Bursell), Medford; Mrs. Ruby Powell, Eugene; Mrs. Myrtle Gillespie, Eugene; Mrs. Opal Haley, Marcola. Mr. Corum came to Oregon from Missouri in 1884 and for the past 14 years has been residing near Springfield. The funeral arrangements are in charge of the Veatch chapel and will be announced later, pending the arrival of Mrs. Hubbell.

NOTE: John Wilkerson Corum was the son of Thomas Short Corum and Eleanor Corum. In about 1869, he was married to Sarah D. Fulton. After Sarah Darthula (Fulton) Corum died at age 27, John Corum later was married to Sarah Gordon (Berry) Corum.

Corum was the father of a total of ten children.

Before Sarah D. (Fulton) Corum's death in 1875, they had three children. They were: Luella "Lulu" (Corum) Hubbell [Mrs. Oscar Thomas Hubbell], Perry Milton Corum [who married Clara Bell Sylvester], and Luther Corum, who died at the age of 3 months in 1875.

With his second wife, John Corum fathered seven children. Their first two children died in early childhood: Harriet [who died in Missouri] and Ollie Lee [who died in Gales Creek, Washington County, Oregon].
