---Emma Matilda Christianson, 88, died Monday morning at 4:00 in her home four miles west of La Plata. She had been in failing health for the past six months.
---Born April 20, 1874 in Thomas, Illinois, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Elkdahl. She was married to Peter Christianson, January 19, 1893 at Rock Falls, Illinois and to this marriage three children were born.
---Surviving are one son, Paul Christianson of La Plata; two daughters, Mary J. Christianson of La Plata and Emily Henning of Kansas City; one grandson, Junior Henning, of Kansas City and one sister, Louise Arnold of Tampico, Illinois.
---She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1920.
---The Christiansons moved from Illinois to their farm four miles west of La Plata in 1903. She was a member of the Luthern Church and was also a charter member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
---Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Stout, pastor of the La Plata Christian Church officiating. Burial was in the La Plata Cemetery.
