Article from a newspaper clipping of the death of his first wife and child:
Albert lost his wife and child to carbon monoxide fumes after the car he had been driving went off the road and into a snowbank, 11 miles away from his home. He left them in the car while he was driven home to get chains to tow the vehicle out of the snowbank. He stayed home while the driver of the truck returned to tow the car out. He fell asleep and when he awoke, he realized that they had not returned. He went out to find them and far the car running with all the passengers unconscious. He opened the windows, turned off the car and went for help.
