ETHEL HAWKINS
---Ethel May Atteberry Hawkins, daughter of John J. and Elizabeth Atteberry, was born February 16, 1882, near Locust Hill in Knox County, Missouri, and died October 27, 1954 at the age of seventy-two.
---She was united in marriage to Elliott Homer Hawkins on February 24, 1904 and to this union were born one son, John O. Hawkins.
---Mrs. Hawkins united with the Novelty Christian Church at an early age. She had been a faithful church member and worker of the La Plata Christian Church and a teacher of the Willing Workers Class for years.
---She was also a member of the Fortnightly Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.
---Mrs. Hawkins is survived by her son, John O. and his wife, Hazel; two grandchildren, Susan Joan and John David Hawkins of St. Louis; two brothers, Lawrence W. Atteberry of Atlanta, Missouri and Frank E. Atteberry of Elmer; one sister, Ina Mock of Elmer and several nieces and nephews.
---Her husband, parents, three brothers and one sister, Annie Atteberry, preceded her in death.
---Funeral services were Friday afternoon at the La Plata Christian Church. Rev. Ray Prather officiated assisted by Rev. J.T. Quigley.
