Per Obit. Veteran Police Officer Lee - Fitzhugh Lee, 63, a Miami police officer for 27 years before he resigned last year because of ill health, died Monday. Mr. Lee, of 1937 NW 29th St. came to Miami 50 years ago from New Smyrna Beach. He once attended school where the Miami post office now stands and remembered drawing water from an artesian well at Sixth St. and N. Miami Ave. for the school's use. He was member of the Police Benevolent Association. He is survived by his wife, Thelma; a son, Hugh E. Miami, a daughter Mrs. Mary L. Peters Jr., Pittsburgh; two brothers, J.D. Lee, Belle Glade and Harry Lee, Miami and four sisters, Mrs. H. Leslie Quigg, wife of a former Miami city commission and police chief; Mrs. Casper Hefty, Mrs. Henry Braddock and Mrs. Ada Bunnell, all of Miami. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Philbrick's Miami Chapel with burial in Miami Memorial Park.
