NEWELLTON — Funeral services for Harry Black, 66, of Newellton will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church in Newellton with the Rev. James Holt and the Rev. A. D. Foster officiating.

Burial will be in Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton under direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah.

Mr. Black died Wednesday morning in St. Charles Legion Memorial Hospital in Newellton after a long illness.

Before his retirement, Mr. Black was a millwright for the Parks Lumber Co. He was a native of Morley, Mo. and a resident of Tensas Parish for 46 years. He was also a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Chloe Black of Newellton; five sons, Larry and Bobby Black, both of Newellton, Charlie Black of Little Rock, Ark., Donald Black of Waterproof, and Allen L. Perritt of Hermanville, Miss.; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Wood of Bovina, Miss., Mrs. Ann Owen of Newellton, and Mrs. Pat Moore of Start; one brother, Early Darrel Black of Saxton, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Lee Abernathy and Mrs. Emma Arnold, both of Morley, Mo., and Mrs. Cora Johnson of Overland, Mo.; and 24 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Roy Higginbotham, Parnell Barfield, W. B. McDonald, Leon Arnold, Leroy Williams and Jimmy DeVincent.
