Ketherine Felske, nee Walter; beloved wife of the late Joseph, fond mother of Joseph, Catherine, John, and Rose. Funeral Wednesday, Nov 9 at 9:30 a.m from late residence, 2043 W. 13th street, to Holy Trinity church. Internment St Joseph cemetery. Member of Altar and Rosary society and Banner Wohltaegkeits Verein.

-------------------------------------------------------

Katherine "Katie" Walter was born in Austria. She migrated to the U.S. with her son Edward Walter during 1886. Her native language was Magyar, a Hungarian dialect.

Miss. Katherine Walter married Joseph Thomas Felske/Felski/Felsky on November 21, 1897 in St. Francis of Assissi Church, Chicago, IL.

It's unknown whether Katherine's maiden name was Walter or whether "Walter" was her married name. If Walter was actually her married name, it's possible that she had been married to Heinrich Walter prior to her marriage to Joseph Felske.

No records have been found for Katherine Walter between the time of her arrival in New York during 1886 with her son Edward and her marriage to Joseph Felske in Chicago during 1897.

Rosie Klauser-Langbauer and John Langbauer were the god-parents for her four children with Joseph Felske.

Although Catherine Felske's headstone shows her birth date as November 25, 1868, her death certificate shows she was born on November 25, 1867. The 1900 census show that she was born during November 1868.
