James E. Ahl, age 67, of 3029 CTH Q, Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 28, 2004, at his residence.
He was born April 8, 1937, in Manitowoc, son of the late Joseph E. and Elsie Augustine Ahl. James was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. He received both his bachelor's degree and his master's degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. On Feb. 20, 1960, he married the former Emma Jane Jasper at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. James was employed with the Kewaunee Public School System as a teacher for more than 20 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc.

Survivors include his wife: Emma Jane Ahl, Manitowoc; a son and daughter-in-law: Scott and Jill Ahl, Two Rivers; twin daughters and a son-in-law: Cindy Ahl Debot, Sheboygan; Christine and Dean Eisenschink, Manitowoc; three precious grandchildren: Jaelyn, Braedyn and Caesyn Ahl; a stepgrandson: Dustin Eisenschink; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Raymond and Ruth Ahl, Manitowoc; Robert and Dolly Ahl, Manitowoc; Norbert and Pat Ahl, Clarks Mills; six sisters and brothers-in-law: Dorothy and Harold Hibbard, Shawano; Alice and Tony Reimer, Manitowoc; MaryAnn Gallenberger, Wauwatosa; Bernice and Jerome Brandl, Pewaukee; Elaine and Al Meyer, Manitowoc; Frances Ahl-Miller, Manitowoc; and a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ronald and Judy Jasper, Manitowoc; and Ellie Haefner, Sheboygan. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law: Gerald and Nelda Ahl; and a brother-in-law: Tom Haefner.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday (TODAY), Dec. 30, 2004, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. led by Deacon Kenneth Nelesen. Friends may also call Friday morning at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc, from 10 a.m. until the time Mass at 11 a.m.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Gerald Foley. Cremation will take place at a later date with burial of the cremated remains at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, town of Kossuth.
