Bonnie Ovella Adams was born on 7 Aug 1915 in Star, Mills County, Texas to "Lant" Thomas Landmon Adams and "Tennie" Tennessee (Slaughter) Adams. The birth certificate for her shows a birth date of "7/7/1915" instead of the correct birth date of 8/7/1915 (Aug 7, 1915). She spent her life celebrating her birthday on August 7th.
- She was the 3rd of 4 children born to Lant and Tennie. Her siblings were: Vince Dee Adams (who went simply by "VD" and "D"), Gladys Izora Adams (who went by Izora or "Doe"), and Thomas Landmon Adams Jr. (who went by "T.L.").
- Bonnie Ovella Adams married on 18 March 1933 to Frank Stubbs. Frank was the son of Cyril Stubbs and Mary "Pete" (Johnson) Stubbs. Bonnie Ovella (Adams) Stubbs went by both of her names "Bonnie" and "Ovella", at different times in her life. She was born and raised in Star, with her siblings, then attended Howard Payne College in Brownwood, where she met Frank. They lived in Brownwood until Frank graduated, and lived a short while in Wheeler, Texas before moving to Pampa, Texas in 1936.
- Ovella and Frank had one child while they lived in Pampa, Texas: Paul Edward Stubbs, born 1939. Frank was working as a laborer in the oil fields. After a few years in Pampa, the couple moved to Abilene where they raised Paul and also adopted a sweet child, Julie when Julie was 6 years old, living in foster care in Odessa, Texas. After their son Paul finished high school in Abliene, Ovella, Frank, and adopted daughter Julie moved to Sweetwater, Texas.
- Bonnie Ovella (Adams) Stubbs died on 19 Sept 2001 in the Hendrick Medical Center of Abilene, Taylor County, Texas. Her usual residence was in Sweetwater, Texas, where she had lived almost 43 years before her death. She is buried at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sweetwater, Nolan County, Texas with her husband. She died at the age of 86 years.
