John Miller Bloyd was the first child of George Bloyd and Elizabeth "Betty" Noe Bloyd. Miller was born July 23, 1846 and died September 23, 1929 and was buried in the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery in Green County, Kentucky.

John Miller married Nancy Jane Larimour, who was the daughter of Elam Larimour and Theresa "Irene" Corum Larimour. Nancy was born February 25, 1851 and died December 9, 1932. She was buried in the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery in Green County, Kentucky.

Miller and Nancy were married August 11, 1869. They had eleven children. Miller moved to Hardin County. While there he cut wood to burn for 25 cents a cord. He soon moved back to Green County, Kentucky. Miller was a licensed minister of the Southern Baptist faith. He preached in Green County, Kentucky in the Russell Creek Association. He was a very impressive sight with his handlebar mustache and frock coat. Miller was a man of great faith and looked forward to his death with a great eagerness to be in the presence of his Lord.
