According to his death certificate parents were John M. Bloyd and Nancy Jane Larimore.

GREENSBURG RECORD HERALD OBITUARY – 10/06/1949
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 2, 1949 for John Lewis Bloyd, age 70, who died at the home of his son, Gradie Bloyd, in Louisville, Friday, September 30, 1949. Services were conducted by Rev. D. L. Druien in the Beech Grove Baptist Church and burial was in the church cemetery.
The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Miller Bloyd, he was born in Green County December 19, 1878. He united with the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, later moving his membership to Beech Grove Baptist Church.
In 1904 he married Miss Beulah Nelson and to this union four children were born. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Vanda Simpson and two sons: Gradie and Elmer Bloyd all of Louisville. Also surviving are six brothers: Joe Bloyd, Isaac Bloyd, Jim Bloyd, Arvin Bloyd, Bob Bloyd and Dave Bloyd, all of Green County and two sisters: Irene Blevins and Lavellen Wilson both of Ohio, ten grandchildren and one great grandson.
Pallbearers were Willis Ford, Colman Ennis, George Upton, Avery Shuffett, Olie Larimore and Boyce Hudson.
