At the age of 20 years she came to the Gothenburg community. Here she was united in marriage to Enne Folkers on the 6th day of October, 1887.
This marriage was blessed with nine children, six sons and three daughters. Mr. Folkers passed away on June 17, 1909. Three sons, Heye, Menne, and John Folkers also preceded her in death. Mrs. Folkers lived on a farm near Gothenburg most of the years that she lived in the Gothenburg community. She became a member of the former Christ Lutheran Church of Gothenburg shortly after moving to the Gothenburg community. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church of Gothenburg at the time of her death.
