He was a native of Morehead, Ky., and had lived most of his life in Muncie. He was retired from Ball Corp. and had been a meter policeman and had worked at Davis Rug and Furniture Cleaners. He was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include the widow, Wilma; three sons, John Jr., Redkey, and Walter and Earl, both of Muncie; three daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Retz, St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Virginia Poland, Dunkirk, and Mrs. Darlene Delk, Muncie; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Corda Dance and Mrs. Nora Hostetler, both of Muncie.
Services are pending at Parson Mortuary.
