Son of Johann Harmann Gerhard Brandt buried in Bippen, Germany, husband of Anna "Serina" Kolves Brand, brother of Ben and Will Brand buried in Logan, NM and August Brand buried in Niland, CA.

Herman Frederick Brand, son of Harmon and Adelaide Brand, was born near Bippen, Hanover, Germany on October 26, 1862 and died at his home near Beaver City, Nebr. on August 20, 1946 at the age of 83 years, 9 mo. 24 days.
At the age of 24 years, he came to America to join his three brothers who were living in Illinois.
He worked in the neighborhood of Bath, Ill. untill february of 1894.
On Febr. 1, 1894, he was united in marrage to Anna Serena Adeline Kolves by Rev. Gottlieb Traut, Jr. at St. Johns Lutheran church parsonage at Matanzas, Ill. They continued to reside in the Bath community untill March of 1904 when he and his family moved to a farm in the Spring Green community near Beaver City, Nebr. where he lived until his death.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in Germany and transferred his membership to the Matanzas, Stamford and Hendley Luthern churches.
He leaves to morn his passing, four sons, Harman of Stamford, Ernest of Beaver City, Carl of Oxford, and Frank of Hendley; two daughters, Lizzie and Margaretha of Beaver City. One daughter, Katherina Anna Christina proceded him in death 38 years ago, and his wife, 12 years ago. Also his father , mother and seven brothers proceded him in death.
He leaves one brother, Ben Brand of Logan, New Mexico; 12 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors and other relatives.
He was a kind and loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Spring Green church with Rev. Carl J. Olson of Stamford in charge. Appropriate music was furnished by a quartette composed of Neva Longsine, Wanda Martin, Glenda Wolzen and Audrey Deeder, accompanied at the piano by Mr. Fred Knappert.
Pall bearers were John Bruening, Walter Cornell, Ehme Wolzen, Bryan Martin, Walter Martin and Arthur Martin.
Internment was made in the Spring Green cemetery
