AGED RESIDENT DIED AT ST. PAUL
-----
CUMBERLAND RIDLEN, AGED 90 YEARS, PASSED AWAY AT HOME
SATURDAY NIGHT.
-----
FUNERAL SERVICE TUESDAY
Cumberland Ridlen, one of the oldest and respected citizens of St. Paul, died at eight o'clock. Mr. Ridlen had been bedfast for the past four years and eight months, suffering from a complication of diseases. He was 90 years, ten months and fourteen days of age.
Mr. Ridlen was born in Shelby county and had lived in St. Paul for sixty years. During his lifetime he had traveled extensively in South and Central America, being engaged in the mahogany lumber business. He had also followed farming and the merchandise business until the last few years, when he was forced to retire due to ill health.
Besides the aged widow, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. James W. Bush and Mrs. Jacob Johannes, both of St. Paul. Mrs. Bush has lived at the home of her parents for sometime assisting in the care of her father during his illness. Four grandchildren also survive. Ellis Slifer of this city is a brother-in-law of the deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at the late home on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, the Rev. Eugene, of Irvington, officiating. Interment in the Ridlen cemetery near St. Paul, R.T. Stewart in charge.
