Lewis J. Nowak, 80, of 313 N. 11th Ave. E., died Sunday in a Duluth hospital. Born in Austria, he had resided in Duluth since 1927. He was a former employee of the Chicago and North-Western Railway, working as a baggage handler and retiring in 1951 after 45 years of service.
Mr. Nowak was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Parish and the Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife, Nellie; eight sons, Brother Victor, OC, Milwaukee; Leonard, Little Rock, Ark.; Francis, St. Cloud; Joseph, Cloquet; Lawrence, California; and Vincent, Gerald and John, all of Duluth; a brother, Frank, Chippewa Falls, Wis; three sisters, Sister Cassina, ND, Elm Grove, Wis., and Mrs Herbert Neubauer and Mrs Fay Coyne, both of Beloit, Wis., 20 grandchildren and a great grandchild.
