Fred Doernbach; Retired Contractor
South Egg Harbor- Frederick Doernbach Sr., of 120 S. Cincinnati Ave., died in Shore Memorial Hospital Sunday after a lingering illness. He was 70.
Fred was born in Philadelphia. The son of German Immigrants. The family moved to Egg Harbor City in 1902.
A lifelong resident here, he was a retired building contractor and Union Carpenter. He was once President of Egg Harbor City Local 1960. He was a member of Redmen's Lodge and was Past Sachem.
Surviving are his wife, Ferdinanda; three sons, Fred Jr. of Absecon and Walter and Daniel, both of this city; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Kitz and Mrs. Susan Corbett, both of Cherry Hill; a borther, Christian of the Bahamas; a sister Frieda of S.Egg Harbor; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Egg Harbor Cemetery.
