He was a native of Franklin County and lived most of his life in Colbert County where he was a farmer, carpenter, and member of Carpenter Local 109, Sheffield. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the father of the late Charles V. Taylor, Cherokee.
The funeral will be at 2pm Saturday at Morrison Funeral Home chapel, Tuscumbia, with Terry Cole officating. Bural will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include wife, Floria V. Taylor, Tuscumbia; daughters, Dorothy Reeps, Ventura, California, Betty Oliver, Russellville, Virginia Smallwood, Tuscumbia, Linda Crew, Jasper; sister, Lula Taylor, Nashville, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Kevin Parker, Leo Crittenden, Bobby Stanfield, Gary Smallwood, Clabron Smith, James Earl Smallwood and John Kimbrough.
