John Petrik was born in Tabor, SD. In 1931, he and his wife Mary, and eleven of their twelve children, moved to Bennett County and settled in the Patricia area.
During WWII, four sons, Jim, Joe, Chub, and Paul served in the war.
The Petriks were very musical and played for many dances and house parties.
