Theresia Klassen, 96, of Spring Hill died on Friday, March 21, 2008 at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 26, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Theresia was born on April 29, 1911, in Lake Henry to Jacob and Catherine (Garding) Hemmesch.

She married Nicholas Klassen on May 3, 1938, at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Lake Henry. They farmed in Lake Henry Township until 1962, when they moved to Spring Hill. Their union lasted until his death in 1995.

Theresia is survived by her children, Ralph (Marcella) of Richmond, Lorraine Cagley of Tulsa, Okla., Kathy (Ralph) Kalthoff of Richmond, Duane (LaDes) Glanzer-Klassen of Minneapolis, Caroline (Rueben) Nathe of Litchfield, Hildegard (Richard) Nohner of Clearwater, Marie of Minneapolis, Jane (Bob) Detloff of Sartell, and Jim (Jan) of Spring Hill; 25 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jacob & Catherine Hemmesch; husband, Nicholas Klassen; daughter, Marlene; a great-grandson; sister, Margaret Stang; and brothers, Marcus, Bernard, and Alois Hemmesch.
