1927 – 2011
Great rejoicing occurred in heaven and on earth August 21, 2011, when Darlene Leone Horton Parkin, completed her sojourn on earth in Holladay, Utah, and returned to the arms of her loving husband, Darwin L Parkin, to whom she was married in the Salt Lake Temple on February 6, 1944. She was born June 18, 1927, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Seymour Y. and Anne J. Horton.
Darlene was a woman of great love and faith. She found joy in serving her family, friends, church and others in need through her gifts of music, listening, cooking, baking, and the spoken word. Her motto was "people are more important than things."
