Greybull, Wyo. - Mrs. Hazel Fern Turner, 79, resident of Greybull for more than 50 years, died Saturday evening at South Big Horn County Hospital. Death was due to a cerebal hemorrhage.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Irvin Bradshaw and the Rev. Raymond Nott. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery with Atwood and Atwood Mortuary in charge.
Mrs. Turner was born Oct. 20, 1891 at Bazine, Kan., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Cole and attended schools there. She taught two terms of rural school before she married to Jay Earl Turner June 7, 1911 at Bazine.
They came to Kirby in 1918, to Worland in 1919, and to Greybull in 1920. Mr. Turner was the Burlington depot agent at Greybull. He died Sept. 16, 1951.
Mrs. Turner was a member of First Baptist Church, and in 1970 was honored as a 50-year member by the congregation. She served as a Sunday school teacher and in many church offices.
Suvivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jonathan Davis, of Emblem; three sons, Jay Olin Turner, Nashville, Tenn., Warren Turner of Tulsa, Okla., and Robert Turner of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Ira Cole, Longmont, Colo., and E. M. Cole, Lamar, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Meyers, Bazine, Kan., Mrs. John Carey, Hutchinson, Kan., and Mrs. Gladys Hurst, Ness City, Kan.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
