Mary Ruth Aaron Norman of Greensboro, GA died Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro, GA. She was 98.
A native of Oglethorpe County she was born October 31, 1919 in Lexington, GA to the late Jessie James Aaron and Winnie Pearl Ware Aaron. She grew up and attended school in Oglethorpe County. For many years she worked for Thomas Textile in Union Point as a seamstress. She had many talents including making plastic canvas where she made her own designs such as church banks, bible covers, bookmarks, rocking chairs and Christmas ornaments. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting and sewing. Over the years she designed and made her family members clothes and beautiful quilts. She attended church at Pentecost Chapel Holiness Church in Lexington, Georgia.
She is survived by two sons, sister, Faye Aaron Barrett of Lexington, GA; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Annette "Ann" Tolbert; sons, James Lee Norman and Marvin E. Norman; granddaughter, Erika Norman; and fourteen siblings.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pentecost Chapel Holiness Church, 389 Stephens Grove Church Road, Lexington, GA 30648 with Rev. A. W. "Butch" Roberts, Rev. Brenda Vandiver and Rev. Ty Sorrow officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Callaway Funeral Home in Union Point is in charge of arrangements.
