Elsie C. Haupt, 90, former Town of Newton resident, died early Friday morning, February 12, 1988 at the Manitowoc Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 11 am Monday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church, Manitowoc. Rev. Glenn Unke will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Haupt was born Elsie Caroline Kolb on August 28, 1897 in the town of Barron, Wisconsin, daughter of the late William and Louise Waack Kolb. She married Siegfried F. Haupt on October 9, 1918 in the Town of Newton. The couple celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary in 1983. The couple owned and operated a farm in the Town of Newton, retiring in 1961. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1986. Mrs. Haupt was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Hubert and Marian Haupt of Manitowoc; two daughters and a son-in-law, Vera and Bud Liermann of Conway, Arkansas and Ethel Rusch of Manitowoc; 6 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Sanger, a grandson, Steven Rusch, a granddaughter, Annette Rusch and a brother, Walter Kolb.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Funeral Home, 5 pm to 9 pm Sunday evening and Monday morning at the church from 10 am to the time of services.
