Charles Jackson "Jack" Taylor, born April 6, 1926 in Stephenson, Wyoming County, WV, was the second son in a family of eleven children of Grant U. Taylor, a coal miner, carpenter, and "Justice of the Peace" of Wyoming County, WV (1930-1940) and Mary Ellen (Wickline) Taylor.

He died in January 1991, age 64. "Jack" had served as a mine foreman "boss." His family had resided in Pierpoint, Wyoming County, WV, near Maben, WV for many years. "Jack" enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He and his family attended Pierpoint Free Will Baptist Church.

He first married Doris Vincent and second married Mrs Ida Geneva (Workman) Hutchinson. "Jack" was survived by his second wife, Ida Geneva, and his children: Cynthia Marie Taylor, his daughter by Doris, Ernest Charles Taylor, his adopted son, Ida Geneva's son by her first marriage, and three daughters by Ida Geneva, Vicki Colleen (Taylor) Thomas, wife of William Thomas, Beverly Kay Taylor, and Emma Jacqueline (Taylor) Lawson, wife of Peter Lawson and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Two of his daughters became public school teachers.

"Jack" was also survived by his three brothers, Simpson Grant Taylor, Franklin Delano Taylor, Sr., husband of Patricia, and Danny Rae Taylor, husband of Anna, four sisters, Mary Elizabeth (Taylor) Elliott, wife of James Edward Elliott, Virginia Lee (Taylor) Meyers, second wife of Bobby Dale Meyers, Shirley Ann Taylor, and Ruth Danese (Taylor) Collins, wife of Robert Chester Collins. He was also survived by sisters-in-law, Emma Lee (Workman) Taylor Kardish, Maxie (Workman) Bowles, Vesta (Workman) Wilson, Zida (Workman) Elam, and brothers-in-law, Roy B. Workman, Jr., Earl Workman, and Max Workman.

Three brothers, William Ransome Taylor (1951, coal mining accident at Wyco, WV), Staff Sgt. Grover Robert Taylor (1966, South Viet Nam), and Thomas Waldron Taylor (1985, Crab Orchard, WV), his father, Grant U. Taylor (1979), and his mother, Mary Ellen (Wickline) Taylor (1980), predeceased him.

His parents had resided in Allen Junction, Wyoming County, WV, where a bridge is named for his brother who died in South Viet Nam in 1966. Grover Robert is buried in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
