JOSEPH SCHEIDT, JR. (d. 2018)
Dunbar - 89, died Monday January 1, 2018, at home. He was born to the late Joseph and Catherine (Schwinn) Scheidt on the family farm in Cleveland, Wisconsin. He attended St. Wendel Catholic School in Cleveland. Joe was united in marriage to the former Carol Swoboda in Sheboygan in 1949. During his younger years he worked on the family farm along with neighborhood farms and had many other jobs including: Mathias Dairy, Bar Proprietor, Rambler (AMC) Salesman, Surge Milking Equipment Salesman and the Kohler Company where he retired from in 1990. Joe always kept active with his church councils and with maintenance. He started the fishing club in Cleveland which has become "Fish and Game Club" today, he started Cleveland Snowmobile Club called "Cleveland Snow Hawks", he was also a Lions member in Pembine and always worked the Brat Stand at the picnic as well as the Pembine Blood Bank. Joe was also the Fix-It Man to all his weekend neighbors; he built bird houses and loved his John Deere.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Carol; three children: Gary (Gretchen) Scheidt of Cleveland, Gail (Robert) Wollenberg of Pembine, and Blane Scheidt of Modesto, CA; seven grandchildren: Luke (Johanna) Harris, Karla (Mike) Blaul, Jenny (Jon) Lapinskas, Breia (Jeremy) Bader, Sarah (Rick) Ashton, Joey and Autumn Scheidt; seven great grandchildren; his brother, Earl (Germaine) Scheidt of Dunbar; and sister-in-laws: Judy Scheidt, Delores Scheidt, Jane (Pete) Yde, and Genevieve Britain; and further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa; brothers, Eugene and Adrian; infant sister, Carol; mother and father-in-law: Joseph and Sylvia Swoboda; and brothers-in-law, Joseph Swoboda and Charles Vance Britain.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am on Tuesday January 9, 2018, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Pembine with Father Matt Settle officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 am until the time of the Mass at church on Tuesday.
