George D. Church of Chiloquin passed away on Sept. 29, 2011, in California at the age of 65 with family at his bedside.
He was the beloved father of Geraldine Kennedy and her husband Tim of Nashville, Tenn., Michele Church and her husband Tony of Tracy, Calif., Donna Church of Alameda, Calif., Stephen Church of New York, N.Y., and Alicia Hubert and her husband Justin of Fremont, Calif.; proud "Papa" to Natassia and Hailey Edmondson of Fremont; and grandpa to Johnny, Roya, Benicio, Andreus, Aubrey, Sara, and John.
He was preceded in death by "Maggie," his partner for 27 years. Together, they are survived by a total of eight children, nine grandkids, and one niece Roxanne McGarvie and her son David.
Born on Sept. 11, 1946, in Minnesota, Jerry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, stationed aboard the USS Hornet, Vietnam 1967-68. A loyal Minnesota Vikings fan, he enjoyed watching football with friends, fishing, and was known to frequent local watering holes before moving to Oregon in 1997.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m. at Angelwood Cemetery, 22815 Cherrywood Lane, Chiloquin, Ore.
