A graveside service was held Tuesday, August 3, at the Mount Union Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Grundon officiating. Interment followed.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, August 4, at the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Inc., at 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. These arrangements were under the direction of the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Inc.
Born May 23, 1936, in Mount Union, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Martha E. (Norris) Bard.
Surviving is his companion, Sharon Cook, who resides at the same address. He is also survived by a stepson K. Alan Cook, Harrisburg; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Robert (Betty) Fleming and Mrs. Andrew (Janet) Kurey, both of Mount Union; Sheldon L. Bard, Blasdel, N.Y. and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were two brothers; Charles Leon Bard and Frederick Norris Bard.
Mr. Bard was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
He was a member of the loyal Order of Moose, Harrisburg; a member of PARSE, and a member of AARP. He was also an avid golfer and bowler.
Mr. Bard graduated from Captain Jack High School, Mount Union, in the Class of 1954.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mount Union.
