John A Collins, a resident of Prospect Park for the last 12 years died at the home of his daughter Mrs Warner Sutton of 1020 Eighth avenue after an illness of 19 months. For 22 years Mr Collins was general manager of the weaving room of the Aberfoyle Manufacturing Company and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. He was a staunch Republican and was one of the organizer of the old Fifth Ward Republican Club of Chester, being its past president, also a president and treasurer of the Young Men's Republican Club, Chester. He was also a charter member of Imperial Connandery ? and Knights of Malta, also a charter member of Knights of the Mystic Chain Southern Cross Castle, and a member of Prospect Park Baptist Church and Men's Bible Class. Mr Collins was bereft of his wife 19 months ago. He is survived by 2 daughters Mrs Warner J Sutton, of this borough, and Mrs Clayton S Lowe of Wildwood, NJ and 1 son, Frank A Collins, of Marcus Hook; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs Albert Curtis, of Royersford, and Mrs Fletcher Preston, of Roxboro, and 1 brother, Thomas Collins of Mt Alto, Pa. The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon from the Sutton home with interment in Leverington Cemetery, Roxboro, with Rev Richard Wells, of Prospect Park Methodist Church in charge of services.
