Ruth H. Mott, 80, 1810 Wollmer St., Manitowoc, died Monday, May 15, 2006, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Ruth was born June 12, 1925, in Cleveland, daughter of the late Walter and Ida (Paul) Dehne. On Sept. 27, 1941, she married Russell Mott at St. John's Reformed Church in Newton. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1980. Ruth worked for 13 years at Mirro Aluminum Manufacturing Company and 18 years at Paragon Manufacturing Company. She volunteered at the food pantries of Denmark and Maribel along with the Bridge Between. Ruth was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Martha Society of Melnik Presbyterian Church. She served as an Elder at Melnik Presbyterian Church, also Ruth was a member of the Manitowoc senior center. After Russell's death, Ruth got her drivers license and she was like a bird let free. Ruth could be found making maple syrup up north, picking strawberries in Brown County or picking cherries in Door County. As we all know, she was never home.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Lorin and Leah Mott, Green Bay; one daughter, LouAnn Brantmeier, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren, Gina, Shelly, Randy, Dawn, Jeffrey, Shannon, Shawn and Scott; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Leona Helke, Manitowoc; Jeanette and Bill Schmalfeldt, Sheboygan; Verlene Kollath, Manitowoc; LaVerne and Bob Schmitz, Newton; one brother-in-law, Milton (Rogene) Behringer; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

Ruth was also preceded in death by two sons, Merlyn and John Mott; three sisters, Florence and Orville Mott, Elenore Fischer and Carol Behringer; one brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Maureen Dehne; two brothers-in-law, Donald and Cliff; ten brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006. Friends may also call Friday morning at Melnik Presbyterian Church in Whitelaw, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday May 19, 2006, at Melnik Presbyterian Church. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Robert Matlock with burial to follow in the Melnik Church Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Rivers Bend Nursing and rehabilitation Center and Holy family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, for their care and compassion shown toward Ruth and her family.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center in Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
