Inez Sibyl McDonald was born in Smyrna Mills, Aroostook Maine, on the family homestead on 22 December 1884, the youngest child of Enoch R. and Harriet A. (Lilley) Gardner .

On 20 Aug 1901, Inez was married to Harry Weller McDonald, son of Robert C. and Mary Jane (Stevens) McDonald, of Nova Scotia, Canada. There is some confusion as to exactly where the couple was married, as records show the marriage taking place in both Maine and New Brunswick, Canada.

They would eventually become the parents of 8 children:
Verne L., Iris A., Madelyn V., Mark E., Rex G., Kathleen H., John R. and Rodney E.

Harry, Inez would remain in the Smyrna Mills, / Merrill area their entire lives. Harry passed away in 1948, Inez would remain in the Smyrna Mills area until she too passed away, on 20 Jul 1971 She was buried in Merrill Cemetery, next to her beloved Harry, near her parents and other siblings.
