He was a butcher, located at # 176-180 in the Bowery in the years 1806-1818 and in the Catherine Market in the years 1811-1813. He lived at # 125 Mott St. near Grand. 1793-1796, he was forman of Engine Co. 19 (fire). 1820 city directory mentions him as a gardener; and in 1841 was a resided at the corner of Broadway and 27th St. in the old Varian homestead, which he inherited from his father. This is where he died of old age and was buried in the Marble Cemetery. His wife was Tamar Leggett(1774-1840); burial unknown.
