Sarah Black was born in Seneca Co., Ohio, April 30th 1833; died Dec. 26th, 1903, aged 70 years, 7 months, 26 days. She was married to Solomon Foght in Oct. 1851. In 1852 they settled in Mich., on the farm where each resided until death called them home. Her companion preceded her 20 months ago to the "Silent beyond." To them were born twelve children, six of whom are living. Mrs. Foght with her husband united with the U.B. church at West Odessa in 1876. She remained a faithful consistent member until death relieved her of her intense suffering, which had been of many weeks duration. The funeral was held from her home Monday p.m., conducted by Rev. I. H. Mourer, where a large concourse of relatives and friends followed her to her last meeting place at Lakeside cemetery.
