Mabel Luella Cruickshanks is the youngest of five children born to William Thompson Cruickshanks and Nancy Adaline [Caulkins] Cruickshanks.
Mabel grew up in Briceland, Humboldt County, CA. She and the family moved to Santa Rosa, CA in about 1923.
In about 1930 (after the April census) she married Roy Carpenter Patchett. This was his second marriage. He first married Nellie May Hoag in 1916. We have found no record indicating Roy and Nellie had any children.
Mabel and Roy had three children:
Gloria Nancy Patchett b. 1933
Janice Hazel Patchett b. 1934
Lloyd Carpenter Patchett 1935-1997
Mabel and Roy spent the rest of their lives in Santa Rosa. Roy was a building contractor and mechanic. In 1942, Roy worked on Mare Island (a peninsula near Vallejo) at Barrett and Hilp Contractors.
