Earl Leroy Geminden was born in Linn township, Moniteau County, Missouri, near Jamestown. He was 1st married to Minnie K. Humphries and lived with her in Long Beach, California. They are found listed in the city directory from 1925-1929. In July 1930, he married his 2nd wife Marion Evonne Hawley. They are listed in the city directories for Santa Cruz, California from 1933-1943 and later lived in the state of Washington until Marion's death. Marion died on July 3, 1973.

Sometime after Marion's death, Earl's youngest sister, Katherine "Katie" McCoy, then asked Earl to move close to her so she could help look after him as he was 19 years older than her and up in his years. Earl then moved to the Eufaula, Oklahoma area and lived in a home on Lake Eufaula just down the street from his sister, Katie.

In 1985, while Katie was preparing to travel to Oklahoma City to attend her son Kenneth's wedding to Mary Ellen (Fallwell) Lieber that was planned for the next week, she died instantly from a heart attack while sitting at the breakfast table. This was so sad for Earl and for Katie's husband, Lester, and the rest of the family. Earl continued to live on beautiful Lake Eufaula in Southeastern, Oklahoma near his brother-in-law, Lester McCoy, after his sister's death.

Wonderful neighbors looked in on Earl and cared for him on a daily basis the last few weeks of his life. The Social Security Death Index has Earl's final address as Stigler, Haskell County, Oklahoma which is true as this was his mailing address, but he died in his home in Longtown, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma. Earl is buried next to his brother, Clarence and wife Emma, in Rose Hill Cemetery, Carrier, Oklahoma.

Earl was a wonderful Uncle and friend and is so missed by everyone.
