Mr. Wendell Larry Stephens, age 66, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011. He was born on March 3, 1945, in Whitfield County, GA. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Goldie and Myrtle Marsena Hughey Stephens.

Mr. Stephens was retired from the Georgia Department of Vehicle Safety as chief II. Mr. Stephens has been involved in many organizations: Yaarab Shriners of Atlanta, GA, Oddfellows Lodge #21 of Hoschton, GA, Life sponser of Knight TemplarEye Foundation, Gwinnett Council #44 of Luxomni, Gwinnett Masonic Widows Fund, Grayson Masonic Lodge #549 F& AM and Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #49 Luxomni, GA.

Mr. Stephens is preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Stephens will be conducted on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at one o'clock in the afternoon at the Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Dan Hall officiating. Mr. Stephens will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral hour at the church.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Stephens has two children by a his first Wife, Brenda Elrod.
