PAAZIG, Clarence W. & Laura Stinemetz Paazig - This family has at least 3 unnatural, mysteriously tragic deaths. I would say from what we know these days that this house should have been investigated for bad water, gas leaks, contaminated food source, or the possibility that someone was administering poison to the family because between the years of 1932 to 1939, the majority family of 10 died of unknown causes with the exception of the father, Clarence, who lived on to 1952 and three sons; Bernard, Les, and Merlin. It was an unbelievable chain of tragic deaths that had doctors baffled. Stanley Howard Paazig, 10, Clarence Raymond Paazig, 9, and Marion Weid Paazig, 7, all died of unknown cause, one after another during the year 1932. The cause of the deaths was and still remains a mystery. In 1938 the family loses two more members. The mother, Laura Steinmetz Paazig, 37, and the fourth son, John Floyd Paazig, 11, experience unknown, sudden illness and die. The very next year, 1939, Earl Paazig, 5, is layed to rest in Mound View Cemetery with his family, now 6 buried within seven years passing. I am seeking more information about this family and any help or additional clues would be appreciated. The family is buried together in Mound View Cemetery. ~ TJD2013

~ THE REPUBLICAN-NEWS ~ MOUNT VERNON - Tuesday, 3 January, 1933 - SUICIDES MANY DURING 1932 - Violent deaths recorded in Knox County numbered 26 during the past year, a decrease of three from the 1931 record of 29. (omitted two paragraphs about suicides and traffic deaths) Listed among the 26 violent deaths of the past year were the deaths of the three sons of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Paazig, Pleasant township. The three boys all died with in week's time early last year of a sudden and mysterious illness which worked with deadly rapidity. The cause was never determined and it appears that the case must go down in history as unsolved. (omitted paragraph about Charles Green murder, see: GREEN, Charles) Other violent deaths during 1932 were attributed to: trains, three; drowning, two; falls, two; bull, one. Four county residents died violent deaths outside of the county during the year. ~ Retyped TJD2013
