Gerald Monroe Adams, age 73, husband of Rhetta (Marchant) Adams, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011.

Born in Cottageville, SC, Gerald was the son of the late Thomas Monroe Adams (22 Apr 1908 - 30 Nov 1970) and Marion (Addison) Adams (16 May 1914 - 23 Jan 2002).

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Gerald is survived by a son, Dennis Adams (Kelli) of Gramling; two daughters, Darlene White (Dean) of Cowpens; Janet Bryant (Tony) of Gramling; two sisters, Marilyn Camburn of Walterboro and Elaine Yates of Round O. He was blessed with six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by a brother, Wendell Oliver Adams (5 Aug 1933 - 4 Sept 2006).

The family received friends 10:00-11:00 AM on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Dunbar Funeral Home.

Funeral services followed at 11:00 AM in the chapel conducted by the Reverend Mark Williams.

In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Regional Hospice, Spartanburg, SC.

Born in Cottageville, SC, Gerald was the son of the late Thomas Monroe Adams (22 Apr 1908 - 30 Nov 1970) and Marion (Addison) Adams (16 May 1914 - 23 Jan 2002).

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Gerald is survived by a son, Dennis Adams (Kelli) of Gramling; two daughters, Darlene White (Dean) of Cowpens; Janet Bryant (Tony) of Gramling; two sisters, Marilyn Camburn of Walterboro and Elaine Yates of Round O. He was blessed with six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
