Death on Sun. of another old settler of our city, Mr. John Friedl, following
a long illness from dropsy. The deceased was born 26 Mar. 1815 in Austria and
came to America in 1848, stopping for a while in New York State, then coming
to Manitowoc in 1850 where he has resided ever since. He is survived by 7 grown
children. The funeral was held Tues. morning at the local Catholic Church
following which the body of the deceased was buried in the city cemetery alongside
that of his late wife.
