He passed the years of his boyhood and young manhood in the vicinity of Bagley, WI. He came to Eastman in 1923 and on March 1 of that year was married to Elnora Julia Kramer, daughter of Eli C.(C. Eli) and Ottilie (Weniger) Kramer at the Evangelical Church in Prairie du Chien, WI.
They set up housekeeping on the Isaac Kramer farm and here in a christian home were raising a family of three children: Lyle, Edna and Cecil, when so unexpectedly his life's work was ended by a bolt of lightening striking him as he stood on a load of grain while assisting in threshing grain on a neighbor's farm.
He was survived by his wife, his children, his father, four brothers: George, Edward, Archie and Harry Ready and five sisters:
Ethel (Harry) Kramer, Grace (Art) Eichel, Ada (Duluth) Pieper,
Emma (Ralph) Bohringer and Glee (Stanley) Clifton.
Pallbearers were: Floyd, Irvin, Donald and Ben Kramer, Lloyd Geitz and Donald McCauley.
